Dylan Lupton Finishes 17th at Texas Motor Speedway

Start: 24th
Stage 1 End: 22nd
Stage 2 End: 22nd
Finish: 17th
Status: Running
Laps Completed: 198/200
Driver Standings: 23rd

  • This was Dylan Lupton’s second NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Texas Motor Speedway and best finish at the Fort Worth oval
  • Lupton’s best running position during the event was 10th (Lap 90)
  • Lupton’s biggest handling issue throughout the race was tightness in the center of the corner
  • The California native’s next race with JGL Racing is Talladega Superspeedway on April 28 (Tony Mrakovich will pilot the No. 28 at Bristol Motor Speedway and Richmond Raceway)

“After our struggles in the first five races of the season, I came into Texas Motor Speedway looking for a clean race and a solid finish. I would say we accomplished that today. Our Achilles heel throughout the race was that we were just too tight in the center of the corner and it hurt our speed on exit. We definitely made strides in the right direction throughout the weekend and I am looking forward to my next race with the JGL crew. I’d like to thank our partners for their continued support.”

Dylan Lupton Hoping to Wrangle Solid Finish in Lone Star State

  • Dylan Lupton has one previous NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Texas Motor Speedway (2017)
  • Running for JGL Racing, Lupton finished 21st in his sole start at the 1.5-mile oval
  • After five races in 2018, Lupton’s best finish came at Atlanta Motor Speedway, another mile-and-a-half track
  • JGL Racing has 15 previous starts at Texas Motor Speedway
  • During the two-week break, Lupton took a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

“After the first five races, a two-week break was much needed for us to rebuild and regroup. I raced Texas Motor Speedway with JGL Racing in November and we were able to build a solid foundation leading into this weekend. Texas is a fast track that I enjoy a lot; I just hope the groove widens out a little more this time so that we can run two wide. In the fall race, I found that if you were stuck on the outside through Turns 1 and 2, there was no grip. A big ‘thank you’ to thinQ Technology Partners and Fatal Clothing for their continued support.”
